A good friend of the Jeubs just returned from a Wyoming antelope hunt. Jessica, their 12-year-old daughter, had likely the most successful hunt a 12-year-old can experience, and I posted a few pictures.
Jeff, Jessica’s dad, taught me a TON a few years ago about hunting in Colorado. Jeff is an avid hunter who posts quite a bit at www.muleymadness.com. God blessed Jeff with more than just meat…Jeff is blessed with a family heritage!

The first snow of the season is an incredible celebration at the Jeub home. The foothills of Colorado doesn’t guarantee a long duration for the snow, but blue sky makes for semi-warm sledding. Our 6-1/2 acre property runs down to a creek in our backyard, and the kids have named each of the sledding runs. One they have nicknamed “The Cliff of Death.” Its landscape explains it all: at the end of the longest run in our backyard is a sudden drop and into bushes. The tobaggan really makes this a joy!

God provides for families in many ways. One way is by hunting. Pictured here are six guys from four families. We were blessed with four cows on Opening Day last Saturday. This first-year hunt will grow over the years. Between the four fathers, we have 30 children. Our vision is to grow our hunting party and pass on a heritage of hunting to our younger ones. The two boys in the top right our the first of the second-generation hunting party.
Part of making the elk hunting trip successful is making sure everyone knows the terrain. We broaden the scouting trip to younger children. I brought Lydia and Isaiah with in August to scout the territory. I captured this video of a herd of elk scooting through the woods…
