Today is the first Jeub birthday of the year: the queen bee herself, Mom. Most know the Jeubs celebrate all the birthdays at once at the Jeub Birthday Bash, but we do our own special celebration for each kid (and parent). We don’t have any birthdays in January, so Wendy’s birthday (February 6) kicks us off! 
We took the kids to the dollar store yesterday to purchase gifts for mom, dad (that birthday is next week), and Valentines Day. Everyone woke early this morning (except Mom) to wrap presents. I cooked eggs and a ring of leftover bratworst for breakfast. I placed them on our “You Are Special” plate (reserved only for birthdays). The kids and I lined up outside the bedroom door and walked in singing “Happy Birthday to You.”
What a crew! This tradition is good. The kids are already talking about whose birthday is next, and then next, and then next. We’ll continue the birthday season till October when the last birthdays are dated, and that is about the time we have our Birthday Bash.
