Initial Feedback on ‘Love in a Diet’

Posted at Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Wendy’s newest book Love in a Diet is being exclusively sold here (it is not available anywhere yet). It is also at a 20% savings PLUS a free sampler of her and Cynthia’s cookbook, set to release very soon. Really, folks, now is the time to buy this book. Here is some initial feedback…

I got your book. I sat down and immediately read it. Now we are reading it as a family each night. I am surprised that my kids are now writing down everything they eat. Ya’ll keep spitting those books out so my family has something good to read;)

Debbie

I just received your book Love in a Diet and I LOVE it! Finally a book written to real people who want to eat great AND lose weight.

In Christ, Ellen

I got my book early this afternoon and read it before dinner (thankfully I had something easy to prepare for dinner!) What a great book! Well done (thanks for keeping it short and to the point too!) You are an inspiration and I look forward to pluggin’ away at this. I have about 30 lbs to lose (ideally, 20 would be a great place to get to also!). I look forward to implementing your 8 steps as well as the other things you suggest.

And here’s a comment on the FREE SAMPLER that comes with your order of Love in a Diet…

I just wanted to email you to let you know we went camping over the weekend.  Saturday we had a potluck.  I made the “Birthday Bash Beans” from the recipe sampler I had gotten.  Everyone just raved about the beans.  In fact when we got together for lunch on Sunday, everyone requested that I bring over any of the leftover beans from the night before.  Even a couple of the guys, who are farmers, had seconds.  Made me feel very good – thanks to Wendy & Cynthia!! My hats off to you.

I reviewed in on my blog. I’m in the process of keeping a journal for a week on what I eat. It’s hard to not cheat by eating less, but I’m determining not to, so I can find out what I’m doing wrong. I really appreciate this book.

Loved the book! Practical, to the point and full of simple and easy to integrate tips and solutions. Thank you!

I got my book, I read it and I will post a review on my blog too whenever I get the chance. Hopefully it will be this weekend. :)

I read your book in two settings, then loaned it to my sister who read it in one! I have lost about 25 pounds and have another 90 to drop, so I have a long way to go. Even so your book really encouraged me. I love that you still eat REAL food, not diet stuff. It showed me that I can do that too! Thanks for the encouragment.

I made the Hot Dog Chowder out of the recipe supplement that came along with the book..at first I thought “Hot Dog Chowder? What the heck?” Let me tell you, my family LOVED it! Easy and simple for busy rushed nights……I think it will become a go-to recipe at our house! I am really looking forward to the second cookbook. Thanks for the great ideas and encouragement.

I too am in the process of writing down what I eat – that in itself is a huge help! I don’t want to write down bad stuff, so it encourages me to eat nice salads with cheese, nuts and some turkey, for example, so I can write good things ;) But I am being honest, of course, and therefor yesterday had to write down that I ate TWO peanut butter sandwiches for lunch – yes, its making me see clearly some things that hopefully once I cut back or eliminate will really help get this weight off I believe! I also started a program this week called “Couch to 5K” where in about 9 weeks I should be able to run 5K in about 30 minutes. That too is going to help (thanks for the tip about eating less, move MORE!)

I realize, I struggle with not eating soon enough in the morning, and I also have a low time in the late afternoon. I’ve been writing times down too in my food journal with how I’m feeling, that is a huge eye opener. Next week I plan on figuring out something to eat around 2-4 p.m. that will help me get through to dinner.

I am in round 2 of reading your book to get some specifics that perhaps I didn’t pick up the first time :) I really pray that I will be a success story that you can refer to for future readers ;)

Thanks again for a wonderful book Wendy! How I wish I was in Minnesota to hear you speaking this week, but alas, it would be a long plane ride from the East Coast ;)

I received your book and really enjoyed reading it. It made me think differently about all the things I put in my mouth and I don’t need it for energy/hunger. I am eating every couple of hours…only a few bites of something. I’ve also added much more activity into my day. With only 35 lbs to lose I know the small steps you encourage will make it possible!
We’re originally from Minn so I now your trip will be great! I hope to run into you in Monument as we live just down the way from you!
    Warmly…

I am studying to be a nurse and health counselor, and your “Love in a Diet” and “Love in the Kitchen” are really helpful in learning about how to recommend healthy, yet realistic diet tips. Maybe one day I will be recommending some recipes (don’t worry though, I will cite them)! Thanks
