I just wanted to thank and encourage you about your family’s appearance on the TV program. You guys have a beautiful family, and were examples of such order, grace, and love. How encouraging, lovely, and loaded in the Phil. 4:8 arena(whatsoever things are lovely….think on these things).

The last of 3 moms featured was really heartbreaking. I do pray that God would work in that family’s lives. I know that God is able to work His will and His salvation in that family’s lives. I know I ought to pray for them, and I will!

Keep up the great work with your lovely family! Oh, and I am thoroughly enjoying your cookbook, too.

Some of these comments are so very judgmental. Not at all what Christ taught. Live your lives, and let others do the same. Ultimately, everything is between God and the individual, not between you and the individual and God.

Melinda, if there were only families that sung the praises of Quiverfull, then it wouldn’t be a fair TV show, it would be an infomercial for the movement. There has to be balance, like it or not. I was actually surprised at how balanced the show was.

Jeubs, I wish the best for you. I don’t agree with a lot of your beliefs, but I think that you have a lovely family that’s full of love.

How did/do we choose names for our children?
That is a long story. I will try to make a long story short.
We feel that each child is a gift from God and so we are careful in picking out their names.
We do search the bible for names. Havilah is in the bible and close friends of ours had a little girl named Havilah and it is in the movie “Fiddler on the Roof”.
We really did like the sound of it.
It means ‘little bird’ and she really is! She was only 4 lbs 7 oz at birth.

A name is a great thing to have and we do not take the responsibility lightly.

just started watching this. i have a question for you guys, how did you come up with choosing your kids’ names (example: havilah’s name)? i noticed all of them have an “uh” or “ah” sound at the end of each one.

Thank you for posting this! I really wanted to see it, but it wasn’t a channel we received. I thought the show was very good. I felt very sad for the Bennett family, but I also think, like many others, that it was a lack of Christ that tore this family apart. It seems to me that both spouses need to be an encouragement to each other and uphold each other in their roles to make the QF life work. Thanks for doing the show! It is such an encouragement to see QF families showing how “normal” they can be while telling the message of Christ.

I completely agree with most of the eariler posts. Your family was shown in a wonderful light and you could tell that God was the heartbeat of your family!! Thank you for sharing your story, I truely feel blessed to know your family and I pray for your family and other families like yours, thank you!

I enjoyed the show and just wanted to say (I forgot to say this before)that Wendy looked great and I hadn’t expected her to be so thin after just having had a baby a few months ago! I have the diet book she wrote and definitely am going to implement the guidelines in it.thanks for sharing those ideas!

I have enjoyed getting to know your family through t.v shows and this blog. I strongly agree w/your apologetics and politics, as I have understood them. Having large families isn’t God’s will for everyone or everyone would have large families. He is the perfect Creator of All things. As Christians we are called to first submit to God in ALL things, to His glory. Your family is a great example of trusting in the Lord for all things. I am saddened when I hear about those who have fallen away from God. I will keep your family in my prayers.
