
If you can stomach the edginess of it, go see Blue Like Jazz. It may be a college party movie, but the movie concludes with some of the most poignant Christian messages I’ve seen on the silver screen. Here’s my review.

Well, pinch my cheek and call me a hicky. Look at us today. Here we are, 16 children, everyday filled with excitement and activity on our 6.5 acre land, publishing curriculum to speakers and debaters nationwide. Wendy and I recall the younger days feeling a bit walled into a corner without much hope for breaking out to chase our dreams. My, how times have changed. How we have changed!

Academic debate trains people to think a certain way. Impact should be at the forefront of parents’ minds when choosing the course for their family. What impacts will their choice of education have? How will their choice to love another child impact their lives? What impact is their home having on this world currently? What changes need to happen to increase the impact they have in the world?

How do others do it without a soulmate? This wing is filled with patients in similar circumstances (lung and heart surgery are common on this floor). Few relatives or roommates are around. The patients are getting fantastic help – this hospital proudly boasts itself as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation – but even the best aid doesn’t compare to a loved one at your side.
