Blue Like Jazz

Blue Like Jazz

If you can stomach the edginess of it, go see Blue Like Jazz. It may be a college party movie, but the movie concludes with some of the most poignant Christian messages I’ve seen on the silver screen. Here’s my review.

Make Sure Your Dreams Win

I'm dreaming I'll own one of these someday.

Well, pinch my cheek and call me a hicky. Look at us today. Here we are, 16 children, everyday filled with excitement and activity on our 6.5 acre land, publishing curriculum to speakers and debaters nationwide. Impact

impact

Academic debate trains people to think a certain way. Impact should be at the forefront of parents’ minds when choosing the course for their family. What impacts will their choice of education have? It’s Not Good to Be Alone

in the hospital

How do others do it without a soulmate? This wing is filled with patients in similar circumstances (lung and heart surgery are common on this floor). Few relatives or roommates are around. The patients are getting fantastic help – this hospital proudly boasts itself as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation – but even the best aid doesn’t compare to a loved one at your side.

Our Nebraska hunting trip 2010. We still talk about how great a time we had.

You may have had difficult parents growing up, and perhaps they’re not all that great today either. Asking you to reconcile with your parents is like asking you to move a mountain. It just so happens that moving mountains in life is possible. Here are some ideas.

Honor Thy Parents

To whom is the Fifth Commandment speaking? You or your children?

What comes to mind when you read Exodus 20:12? Parents typically read it to their children to remind them who is boss. It carries a much different perspective when you read it with YOU as the child.
